Data Sharing Guidelines and Policies for Investigators Requesting to Use ADRC ResourcesThe ADRC at Mount Sinai School of Medicine is receptive to requests of ADRC resources (data, tissue, and so on). If an investigator would like to request a resource they can approach Dr. Vahram Haroutunian, Data Management Core PI, or Dr. Mary Sano, Director of the ADRC. Tissue RequestsThe ADRC welcomes requests for tissue from Investigators not currently funded by the ADRC. Investigators are invited to make requests through Dr. Vahram Haroutunian or Dr. Mary Sano. Tissues needed for conduct of ADRC projects are distributed directly to PIs. Distribution of tissue will be made on a collaborative basis only and determined on a case by case basis by the Tissue Allocation Committee. The Tissue Allocation Committee, a subcommittee of the executive committee, will review the request and determine approval of the distribution of tissue samples to other investigators. The Tissue Allocation Committee meets by a request basis, as opposed to the Executive Committee which meets monthly. Guidelines used by the committee are: scientific merit and compliance with ADRC's mission and priorities, specimen availability and investigator priority order (ADRC PIs; Local collaborators; other ADRCs and ADCs; others), and lastly availability of resources. In these cases, the committee requires a written proposal describing the aims and protocols to be used, provides evidence of expertise in performing the proposed studies, describes how ethical and regulatory requirements will be met, and agrees to the data sharing and collaborative policies of the ADRC. This committee, led by Dr. Vahram Haroutunian, includes Dr. John Morrison, Dr. Daniel Perl, and Dr. Mary Sano. Data RequestsData generated by ADRC cores are communicated to NACC and are available through NACC. Data generated by ADRC projects are the property of investigators who have generated the data. The ADRC strongly encourages and supports collaboration and data sharing, although the final decision is that of the PI. Data from the ADRC cores is available to all ADRC investigators after approval from the PI who has collected that data. Data archive requests from research projects and cores will be directed to the Data Management Core PI, Dr. Vahram Haroutunian, for appropriate approval. If Investigators use Mount Sinai School of Medicine ADRC resources, it will be expected that our ADRC's contribution be documented in any resulting publications. Please direct your questions or requests to:Vahram Haroutunian, M.D., Data Management Core PI Or you can contact the ADRC Administrator: Kathleen Van Dyk ADRC policies were developed in accordance with the NIH ADCS data sharing policy.
