Education and OutreachThe Education and Information Transfer Core (EITC), directed by Margaret Sewell, Ph.D., and Mary Sano, Ph.D., provides educational programming regarding Alzheimer’s disease diagnosis, treatment, management, and research advances and training, to a diverse lay and professional audience. This is accomplished through lecture series for physicians and other health care professionals in training as well as community lectures, workshops, the Memory Enhancement Program, and CME programs. Outreach efforts are also accomplished, in both English and Spanish, through the ADRC newsletter, joint publications with NYCARE (the collaboration of the Education Cores of New York City’s Alzheimer’s Disease Centers and the New York City chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association) for the Alzheimer’s Association Newsletter, brochures, lectures, workshops, conferences, and health fairs. The ongoing collaboration with the Mount Sinai’s Alzheimer’s Disease Assistance Center further allows the Core to provide educational programming and outreach specifically targeted to the large Hispanic community the ADRC serves. If you would like more information about our lecture series, would like to receive our newsletter, or need more information about community resources for those with AD, please call Dr. Sewell at (212) 241-0188 or e-mail: margaret.sewell@mssm.edu. |
