Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)

Inpatient and ambulatory programs for all appropriate patients of any age with state-of-the-art expertise for rapid assessment, evaluation, and treatment initiation. Capacity includes reduced inpatient LOS by continuing treatment on ambulatory basis, as well as treatment initiation on an ambulatory basis; maintenance therapy on an ambulatory basis.

Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) Clinical Core

The ADRC Clinical Core, under the leadership of Mary Sano, Ph.D., and Hillel Grossman, M.D., performs comprehensive clinical and neuropsychological patient evaluations, coordinates data transfer to the Data Management Core, and conducts longitudinal follow up of Alzheimer's disease and non-demented individuals. The Clinical Core coordinates recruitment of subjects for the Mount Sinai ADRC, the Alzheimer's Disease Cooperative Study (ADCS), and other National Institute of Health-funded studies, as well as non-funded pilot studies. This core provides training to a wide range of individuals to assist in the collection of data, and it approaches all participants for possible participation in the autopsy program. In its ongoing efforts to serve a diverse population, the Clinical Core maintains several Satellite Diagnostic and Treatment Clinics in Queens, the Bronx, and Westchester.

Specific Programs

Mount Sinai Psychiatry provides care across the lifespan: from the Early Intervention programs for infants and their parents to Geriatric Psychiatry programming for patients with dementia and for their caregivers. Care is also provided at many levels of intensity, from community-based ambulatory programs through crisis intervention and emergency services to acute inpatient care.
