Why triple board? "I want to develop expertise in both physical and psychiatric illness because I believe that a child and adolescent psychiatrist must understand both the incredible range of normal child development and the impact of medical illness on a child. I also believe that understanding children is a prerequisite to understanding adults and so this program is a great fit."

Advice for interviewees: "Many people will challenge you for selecting a training program that provides training in fields that you will not practice exclusively. Just keep in mind that medicine is complex, as will be your future patients."
