The Psychological Impact of Disaster

Overview

In the wake of the World Trade Center disaster, a host of psychological and behavioral responses are being seen in adults and children. For the vast majority of people, these symptoms are transient and represent normal responses to an abnormal event. Nevertheless, it is important to know who may be at risk and what some of the warning signs are.

The focus of this website is to educate our community about normal psychological and behavioral responses to trauma and disaster. In addition, we will provide information about local and on-line resources.
