Disaster Psychiatry Outreach

Disaster Psychiatry Outreach (DPO) is a charitable organization devoted to the provision of voluntary psychiatric services to individuals affected by disasters. The organization was founded in 1998 by four psychiatrists, currently working in the Mount Sinai-NYU Health System.

Working in collaboration with the American Red Cross in Greater New York and with the New York City Department of Mental Health, DPO has grown into an active organization within New York City. It remains available 24 hours per day to assist those agencies in the event of disasters within the New York area.
