SCI Education Series

Learning about SCI is extremely important for newly injured patients. Therefore, the MS-SCI-MS offers an education series that is required for all inpatients and open to their families and to outpatients. This education series is designed to provide a foundation to understanding how SCI impacts individuals and their family and friends. In this series, patients learn about spinal cord injury and the changes the body undergoes after injury. They learn how to take care of themselves and to anticipate and prevent problems. It also gives them the tools to problem solve if a problem should arise.

The SCI education series is taught by members of the SCI team. The classes take place Tuesday and Thursday at 12 P.M. in the community dining room located on KCC2. It is an extremely important part of the inpatient rehabilitation program, and all inpatients are expected to attend these classes.
