The I.J. Selikoff Center's advanced services are provided at three locations in the New York Metropolitan area. We provide services using a preventive medicine model incorporating three integrated components. These include:

Clinical Care

  • Clinical services for the diagnosis, treatment and management of occupational diseases for current and retired workers, with special expertise in work-related musculoskeletal disease (WRMSDs). Read More

  • Social work services, including counseling regarding the financial, social and psychological aspects of occupational disease
  • Monthly repetitive strain injury support group
  • Assistance and advocacy with workers' compensation (WC), disability and other benefits

  • Education of patients, health care professionals, workers, unions, employers, and communities in the signs and symptoms of occupational disease
  • Recommendations for the provision of appropriate prevention strategies
  • Comprehensive industrial hygiene and ergonomic services to evaluate exposures and recommend effective preventive measures
  • Technical assistance and consultation services for employers, unions and public health agencies
  • Intervention approaches designed to prevent work-related disease and hazardous exposures identified among co-workers
  • Education of policy makers about occupational disease and injury, and about effective prevention methods

Surveillance, Data Management & Public Health-Oriented Research

  • Surveillance of patterns and prevalence of occupational disease
  • Identification of new associations between workplace exposures and disease
  • Evaluation of the efficacy of workplace prevention and intervention
