About the Biobank Informatics and Genomic Data Analysis Center (BIGDASC)

The IPM Biobank Program is designed to generate a large collection of DNA and plasma samples, and genomic data, that are stored in a way that protects patients' privacy while enabling research to be performed on de-identified comprehensive electronic clinical information extracted from Mount Sinai's comprehensive electronic data warehouse (MSDW).

To support its mission, the IPM created a comprehensive data management and analysis environment called the Biobank Informatics and Genomic Data Analysis Center (BIGDASC).
