Flow Cytometry Shared Resource Facility

Flow Cytometry is a powerful technology that enables researchers to sort live cells rapidly to conduct biological studies on purified cell populations. These samples can contain infectious agents, and therefore it is paramount to put in place precautions to protect the instrument operators and neighboring personnel from biohazards that may generate from today's high-speed sorters.

With this in mind, the Flow Cytometry SRF provides the necessary instrumentation and expertise for automated cytofluorimetric analysis and the sterile sorting of specific cell types. Visit our Equipment and Reservations page to find out more about our instruments and fees.

As a reminder: For funding purposes, it is important to acknowledge the Flow Cytometry Shared Resource Facility in all publications that include data derived from the facility.

About fees and reservations

We charge a minimum fee of 1/2 hour for the use of the FACScan and FACScalibur. Sign-up time is charged whether or not the equipment is used, unless a replacement user is found. Prices for services are available online to computers on Mount Sinai networks only. For more details about fees, visit our Equipment and Reservations page or contact the Shared Resource Facility. To make a reservation, visit the eRAP website, or create an account in Mount Sinai Flow Cytometry Online scheduling system (eRAP).

Cancellation policy: A fee of 50 percent of the scheduled time is charged for cancellations occurring between 24 and 72 hours prior to the scheduled time. Users who cancel an appointment less than 24 hours in advance are subject to the full charge of the scheduled time.
