American Medical Women's Association (AMWA)

The American Medical Women's Association (AMWA) is an organization of 10,000 women physicians and medical students dedicated to serving as the unique voice for women's health and the advancement of women in medicine. The American Medical Women's Association empowers women to lead in improving health for all, within a model that reflects the unique perspective of women. The American Medical Women's Association functions at the local, national, and international level to advance women in medicine and improve women's health. This is achieved by providing and developing leadership, advocacy, education, expertise, mentoring, and strategic alliances.

In our local AMWA chapter at Mount Sinai, we strive to bring to the forefront women's issues specific to Mount Sinai and the surrounding community. Events include mentor-mentee discussions, lectures, film viewings, and community service.
