Anesthesia Interest Group

The Anesthesia Interest Group serves to educate medical students on the diverse and exciting field of anesthesia.  Talks will introduce students to the roles of subspecialties of anesthesia, including Critical Care and Pain Management, as well as present information on general career and lifestyle issues.  There will also be a session on matching in anesthesia, with both the director of the Mount Sinai residency program and recently matched Mount Sinai students available for questions.  Hands-on sessions, such as working with the Human Patient Simulator( a mannequin with palpable pulses, breath, and heart sounds that physiologically responds to more than 50 drugs) , will give students a practical look at the responsibilities of an anesthesiologist.
