Catholic Students Association

The goal of the Catholic Students Association is to provide Catholic medical students with a forum through which they can enrich their personal faith developments, discuss the responsibilities of being a Catholic physician, and discover service opportunities to assist fellow students and patients at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and the Hospital. Working in conjunction with the Catholic chaplains at The Mount Sinai Hospital, we provide for the needs of Catholic patients in a number of capacities by serving as Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors at hospital Masses and by bringing the Eucharist to those patients who are unable to attend. In addition, we work to strengthen our development as a faith community by attending Mass as a group once a month. We also seek to learn more about our duties as Catholics and future physicians by inviting guest speakers to our community who can address issues of interest to Catholic physicians and by providing an open environment in which such issues can be discussed.
