Dermatology Interest GroupThe Dermatology Interest Group at Mount Sinai School of Medicine aims to increase student participation in dermatology-related activities, ranging from volunteering in the community to joining on-going research projects to shadowing physicians. While dermatology is often associated with its cosmetic branch, this group seeks to increase awareness of the more noble aspect of the field – for example, the usefulness of regular screenings for early detection and treatment of skin cancer. It will do so by inviting interested medical students to volunteer their time in awareness campaigns - be it in the local, student-run EHHOP clinic, or in community high schools. It will also seek to provide a networking opportunity for dermatology-minded students through regular luncheons and/or dinners with Faculty speakers. This will allow students to meet potential mentors for a research project or a shadowing opportunity. For more information, contact studentc@mssm.edu. |
