Internal Medicine Interest Group (IMIG)

The Internal Medicine Interest Group serves to make Mount Sinai medical students aware of the diverse career opportunities in the field of internal medicine. We invite Mount Sinai Faculty members who practice internal medicine or a specialty following training in the field to participate in talks and demonstrations. These sessions serve to introduce first- and second-year students to the excitement of a career in medicine. Other sessions are directed at the upperclassmen and include panel discussions on the match process involving the director of Mount Sinai's Internal Medicine residency program, as well as successfully matched former MSSM students. Finally, involvement with Mount Sinai's Internal Medicine Interest Group provides students with the opportunity to become involved at the state and national level with the American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine (ACP-ASIM) by participating in various committees.
