The Mount Sinai Oncology Interest Group

The Mount Sinai Oncology Interest Group is intended to provide valuable insight into the fields of Hematology and Oncology, including career options and lifestyles in academic and clinically- oriented Oncology. The group organizes panel discussions in which we invite physicians to share their experiences in medicine and specifically in the fields of Hematology, Surgical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and the practice of Academic Medicine related to Heme/Onc. Our group also aims to increase cancer awareness and present practical information regarding the importance of providing routine screening for cancer in primary health care. Finally, our group is intended to serve as a forum through which students are made aware of the latest advances in pharmacological and surgical cancer therapy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and the medical and ethical issues related to palliation and the treatment of terminally-ill patients.
