Psychiatry Interest GroupThe mission of the Psychiatry Interest Group is to serve as a meeting place for those students and faculty at Mount Sinai with a strong interest in psychiatry. The Group is designed to enable students to encounter the field of psychiatry through a multifaceted interface: (1) discussions and lectures on emerging trends in clinical and academic psychiatry; (2) one-on-one shadowing sessions in the Medical Center's many in-patient and out-patient clinics; (3) access to Mount Sinai's distinguished research programs in psychiatry; and (4) volunteer service to the in-patient residents of Mount Sinai's child and adult psychiatry wards. The Group is further committed to ensuring that Mount Sinai's medical and graduate students live and learn in a healthy and affirming educational environment with access to a comprehensive mental health support system.
