Mount Sinai REMEDYMount Sinai REMEDY (Recovered Medical Equipment for the Developing World) is a high-impact student group at Mount Sinai School of Medicine committed to the recovery of recyclable medical supplies and equipment from Mount Sinai Hospital, affiliated programs, and other community health centers for responsible donation to less-developed countries. Founded in 2003 with the full support of the hospital and school administration, the student group is based on the REMEDY program at Yale, a successful model that has been implemented in over 300 hospitals in the United States. To date, Mount Sinai REMEDY has collected over $500,000 in medical equipment and medications, and this number grows by the week.
