Students Teaching AIDS to Students (STATS)STATS is a medical student-initiated program designed to teach high school classes about sexuality, HIV/AIDS, other STDs, and safe sex. Student leaders contact schools in the New York City are and schedule blocks of time to send groups of trained medical students into classrooms. Through discussion of such topics as condom usage, racism, homophobia, and AIDS, STATS aims to help high school students prevent unwanted pregnancy and disease transmission.
