The Mount Sinai School of Medicine Consortium for Graduate Medical Education, consisting of 13 institutions located in New York and New Jersey, sponsors more than 140 residency programs in virtually every specialty of medicine, enrolling in the aggregate more than 2,000 house staff. Consortium educational activities provided to all house staff, regardless of home institution or specialty.

Program Overview

This newly reorganized Division manages surgical therapy for diseases of the colon, rectum, and anus. There is a formal residency training program now in Colon and Rectal Diseases and a Laparoscopic Colon and Rectal Surgery training program. This Division focuses on new aspects of treatment of Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, colon and rectal cancer, diverticular diseases, and all aspects of anorectal diseases. The Division has a particular focus on the laparoscopic management of many colon and rectal diseases.
