General Surgery Residency Program

Application Process

Applications for the General Surgery Residency Program are accepted from fourth-year medical students via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and processed through the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).

The Department of Surgery will participate in ERAS 2009, and applications are expected to be available for download by the end of June. Details of the schedules/deadlines can be obtained from ERAS.

Select applicants will be invited for interviews on the following dates:

• Saturday, December 6, 2008
• Saturday, December 13, 2008
• Sunday, January 11, 2009

Interviewees will have the opportunity to meet our house staff the evening before their interviews at an informal get-together. While this event is not mandatory, attendance is highly recommended.
