General Surgery Residency Program

Research

Mount Sinai School of Medicine has received international recognition for producing ground-breaking clinical and basic-science research. Consistent with the institutional mission to advance medical science, the Mount Sinai Department of Surgery pursues a variety of research projects on an ongoing basis.

Residents who want to participate in such projects may request faculty approval. If accepted, they can take up to a two-year hiatus for research. Interested residents should contact Dr. Celia Divino, Director of the General Surgical Residency Program.

Surgical residents from 2006 - 2007 have published 35 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals across multiple disciplines.
