Introduction

This Web site describes the New York Traumatic Brain Injury Model System and provides, here and through links to other Web sites, a broad base of information about traumatic brain injury (TBI). Additional information and data on traumatic brain injury and the TBI model systems is provided by the Model System Knowledge Translation Center, at the University of Washington.

The NY TBI Model System is funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (GrantNo. H133A070083); funding period: 2007-2012). It is one of 14 centers in the U.S. recognized as providing comprehensive, high-level care to individuals with TBI – from immediate care, through rehabilitation, to long-term follow-up.

The NY TBI Model System also engages in cutting-edge programs of research and dissemination.
