About UsDisseminationThe idea of dissemination is to get information to people who need it. The NYTBIMS uses this Web site as a mechanism for ‘getting ideas out’. The Resources, section of this site links you to information that may be helpful, created here at Mount Sinai and by others across the U.S. As our own research bears fruit, we will share our results with a variety of audiences. We will use this page to let professionals and consumers know of new publications that may be useful and times/dates when we will be presenting our research at meetings around the country. In addition, we will also publish a yearly newsletter. Also, we will collaborate with the Brain Injury Association of America to produce issues of a policy newsletter that translates research done by all of the TBI model systems over the past many years into policy recommendations. Each issue will suggest how services can be improved, based upon evidence within published studies. Annually, the NYTBIMS in collaboration with the spinal cord injury model system at Mount Sinai offers a TBI and SCI Fair in New York City. At these yearly fairs, persons with TBI or SCI and their families are invited to view exhibits on the latest equipment and technology, see sports demonstrations, learn about new TBI research and visit with old friends on the NYTBIMS staff. |
