TBI-101: A Multimedia Learning/Teaching Package

Back to All Publications

This multimedia package provides a wide-ranging overview of TBI, for educating groups about TBI. The package includes:

  • A 21-page text covering two areas, i.e., basic facts about TBI and vocational rehabilitation of individuals with TBI;
  • Two scripts derived from the text (one on basic facts, the second on vocational rehabilitation) that can be used when making presentations to audiences;
  • 117 slides to be used with the scripts in making presentations.

The basic facts text (and script) describes what happens to an individual following trauma to the brain, the recovery process, severity of injury, functional consequences of injury, mild injury, TBI in children, the incidence of TBI, the course of treatment and the funding of services. The vocational rehabilitation text and script is adapted from Vocational Rehabilitation, Traumatic Brain Injury and the Power of Networking. The scripts are designed to be shaped to fit the needs of different audiences, through the user’s editing. However, it is assumed that target audiences will benefit from a general overview rather than detailed, technical descriptions.
