Clinical Predoctoral Internship Program

The Clinical Predoctoral Internship Program in the Department of Rehabilitation, Mount Sinai School of Medicine and The Mount Sinai Medical Center, provides training in rehabilitation psychology and clinical neuropsychology. The Program has been in existence since 1994 and has been a member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC) since 1994. In 1997 the internship was fully accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), and has been re-accredited by APA through 2009. The Program follows a professional practitioner model of clinical training, incorporates 2,000 hours of supervised clinical experience, and meets licensing requirements for one year of predoctoral supervised clinical training. Seven predoctoral interns will participate in a 12-month training program in 2007-2008. To date, the program has successfully graduated 50 interns. A full-time faculty of 10 licensed psychologists supervises the interns. The program is designed to expand a trainee's basic clinical psychology skills along with focused training in rehabilitation psychology and clinical neuropsychology.
