Research and Graduate Medical Education Innovations

World renowned for our innovative culture and multidisciplinary collaboration, the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is an exciting place to train for the next stage of your medical career. Our residents and fellows thrive on access to a remarkably diverse patient population, high-tech educational environments, and Mount Sinai Health System’s commitment to translate our research discoveries into real patient results.

With over 250 Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs, our residents and fellows collaborate across disciplines and locations throughout the Mount Sinai Health System, as well as with external partners at the state, national, and global level. Every day, these multidisciplinary partnerships help maximize treatment possibilities for patients.

Our residents and fellows also enjoy the unique benefits of simulation training at several centers throughout the Health System, including The Mount Sinai Surgical Simulation Center, the Center for Advanced Medical Simulation, and the Simulation Teaching and Research (STAR) Center. Both provide ample opportunities for our trainees to hone their clinical decision-making and communication skills without risk to patient care. From standardized patients to state-of-the-art equipment, we build competence and confidence within these supportive spaces.
