Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital

The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is a three-year training program that prepares fellows to become academic clinicians and physician-scientists dedicated to improving patients’ treatment outcomes and quality of life. Fellows care for a diverse patient population in New York City at the Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital, training in an environment that exposes them to varied and complex hematologic and oncologic cases encompassing the breadth of the field. The fellowship provides comprehensive clinical training in all aspects of pediatric hematology, oncology, and stem cell transplantation in infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. In addition, fellows train at The Mount Sinai Hospital to learn how to conduct both clinical and laboratory research and gain expertise for academic careers in this subspecialty.

Our program is known for our fellow-centric academic model, allowing trainees to be active leaders in patient care and to educate patients, families, and other trainees. Under the mentorship of our talented faculty, fellows complete 12 four-week blocks of clinical training, rotating through inpatient, outpatient, blood bank, clinical laboratory, hematopathology, radiation oncology, and stem-cell transplant clinical experiences that will firmly establish a strong clinical competency in our field. Fellows also receive protected research time and actively participate in regularly scheduled conferences, including management, radiology, journal club, pediatric grand rounds, tumor board, fellowship core curriculum, and clinical rounds.
