Conditions and Treatments

The Mount Sinai Children’s Brain and Spinal Tumor Center has the capability to treat nearly any type of brain or spinal tumor found in children. Our highly skilled team uses sophisticated neuroimaging and molecular neuropathology diagnostic studies to accurately diagnose these tumors and then work together with the patient and their family to formulate a comprehensive treatment plan that incorporates advanced neurosurgical, radiation, chemotherapeutic, and/or molecularly-based therapeutic approaches to achieve the best outcomes.

  • Advanced brain and spine monitoring and mapping for tumors in critical functional regions
  • 5-ALA fluorescence-guided tumor resection

Hydrocephalus Management

  • Endoscopic minimally invasive hydrocephalus treatment
  • Ventricular shunt placement
