Ronald M. Loeb Center for Alzheimer’s Disease

Opportunities

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS) established The Ronald M. Loeb Center for Alzheimer's Disease to promote interdisciplinary translational research for greater understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying Alzheimer's disease and related disorders, and to translate this knowledge into new treatments and prevention. ISMMS is internationally acclaimed for excellence in scientific research, clinical care, and education. Alison Goate, DPhil, is Director of the Loeb Center.

We seek outstanding candidates who have an MD and/or PhD, at the assistant, associate, or full professor level to direct superior independent research programs addressing the molecular basis of dementia. To complement existing research programs, we are particularly interested in candidates who are using:

  • Animal or stem cell models to study the molecular-cellular pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders
  • Genetic, epigenetic, or genomic approaches to identify modifiers of dementia risk
  • Multi-scale biology to identify novel biomarkers
  • Novel therapeutic approaches in preclinical models of disease

We offer highly competitive startup packages at all researcher levels and for a range of study topics within this discipline. Submit your application material to Alison Goate.
