Human Metabolism and Physiology Lab

A Message from the Directors

We are excited to share with you all the resources at the Human Metabolism and Physiology Lab at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. The lab provides gold-standard measures of human metabolic physiology and body composition as well as research-grade measurements of nutrition and physical activity to researchers and clinicians. Combining our clinical and research expertise with our state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, we provide data from precise measures to guide research protocols and ultimately improve clinical care.

Every patient or study participant is a unique individual requiring a level of personalized study not commonly used in existing practice or research. The importance of understanding and accurately assessing human metabolic function transcends all aspects of health care and disease research. We look forward to collaborating with you to enhance the clinical care of patients and develop novel scientific questions and protocols related to your research.
