SBDRC Resource Core C “Skin Genomics, Transcriptomics, and Epigenetics”

Core C provides state-of-the-art start-to-finish technologies for genomics, transcriptomics, epigenetic, and single-cell analysis of the skin in homeostasis and disease.

Core C Leadership

Co-Director: Robert Sebra, PhD, Associate Professor of Genetics and Genomic Sciences and Director of The Center for Advanced Genomics Technology.

Core C Services

Core C facilitates access to:

  1. Genomics technologies such as exome sequencing, whole-genome sequencing, and targeted capture
  2. Transcriptomic methods (bulk ribonucleic acid (RNA)-seq, poly(A) RNA-seq, and small RNA-seq)
  3. Long-read single-molecule sequencing (SMRT/PacBio) to facilitate analysis of structural changes in DNA and the precise identification of RNA isoforms due to altered splicing
  4. Epigenetic technologies such as assay for transposase-accessible chromatin (ATAC) with high-throughput sequencing, chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) -seq, and CUT&RUN) to identify DNA regulatory elements
  5. Single-cell (sc) technologies for transcript (scRNA-seq), epigenetic (scATAC-seq), and multiomics (scGEX+ATAC) analyses 
  6. CITE-Seq technology for simultaneous epitope and transcriptome measurements of single cells
  7. Spatial transcriptomics analyses 

Upon user request, data obtained by Core C will be supplied to SBDRC Resource Core D Data Analysis and Integrationwhere computational biologists will perform rigorous analysis, visualization, and data management.
